Summer Reading Basics
Summer is just around the corner and we all know what that means: Summer Reading! Here is the basic rundown of how the library can help you obtain copies of your books.
Do you have the list of books I have to read?
There are copies of the lists at the library. You can also see them online:
- Students entering Grade 6 at Briscoe Middle School
- Students entering Grades 7 & 8 at Briscoe Middle School
- Students entering Grade 9-12 at Beverly High School
Do you have copies of the summer reading books at the library?
Yes! We have many copies of every book. However, if all of our copies are checked out, we can also order copies from other libraries in our system. Though you’ll have to wait a few days for them to arrive, it’s very convenient.
I can keep my books all summer, right?
Unfortunately, no. Books may be borrowed for 3 weeks. You may be able to renew them if no one else is waiting.
Where are the books?
All of the books for Beverly High School and Briscoe Middle School are located on tables near the YA section. If you have trouble finding the books, just ask any of the librarians on duty. We’re happy to help you find them.
Are these books available on audio?
Some of them are. We purchased audio versions of all the summer reading books which means that they could be on CD or available as an online download for you to listen to. Unfortunately, not all books have audio versions, but a fair number of this year’s choices have been.
Are any of the books available as eBooks?
If it’s available as an eBook, we have it. Just search the catalog for the title you’re interested in to see if it’s available as an eBook. Again, feel free to ask us if you can’t find it.
Any other questions? Ask one of our wonderful librarians, or call us at 978-921-6062! We’re here to help and get you what you need. Happy Reading!
