Are you a fan of the Bloggess? If so, you will find this book HILARIOUS. If not, chances are Let’s Pretend This Never Happened will still have you in hysterics. Much like Augusten Burroughs and David Sedaris, Jenny Lawson’s “mostly true memoir” finds the humor in the tragic and absurd. Lawson’s Texan upbringing includes dead squirrel hand puppets, Jenkins (a turkey with an attitude), and a particularly charming OCD, Jams-wearing raccoon. This book is not for those easily offended by colorful language or odd taxidermy, but if you’re looking to laugh so hard it’s indecent request this book.
