There will be a reception and lecture on Saturday, September 11 at 2 PM for an installation and photography exhibit by Dave Gordon, And Then There Was Quiet, New York After the Attack which will be on display on the second floor of the main library from September 1-30. The exhibit was born out of the artist’s growing sense that something profound was missing from his understanding of 9/11. The power of the individual photographs included in this exhibition is amplified by imbedding them in an installation including the recreation of a wall of missing posters, artifacts from the collapsed towers and original sculpture.

Dave Gordon is a multimedia artist working with photography, animation, sculpture and robotics both separately and in combination. In addition to producing original art he teaches digital imaging courses at North Shore Community College. He has a masters degree from ITP in the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU and earned his B.A. from Oberlin College. He currently has work on permanent or long term display at The Axiom Center for New and Experimental Media, Boston; The Kanbar Institute of Film & Television New York City; North Shore Community College Beverly campus; and Landmark School, Beverly, MA.
