Creative Artists’ Workshop

child working on art projectCome create your own “paper relief” artwork at the Farms branch! On Tuesday, February 9 from 4-5:30 PM, children’s book illustrator Giles Laroche will demonstrate his cut paper technique for children participating in the Collage Art Show, to be exhibited at the Farms branch in March.
A resident of Salem, Massachusetts, Giles’s “paper relief” technique involves drawing, cutting, painting, and gluing – sometimes up to 7 or 8 layers, giving his finished work a 3-dimensional quality.
This program is for children age 6 and older.
This program is full, but names are being accepted for the wait list.

A Visit to the Stars

stars and planetsJoin us in welcoming Mainely Stars Planetarium to the Farms branch of the library on Tuesday, August 18 at 10 AM. Their portable planetarium is like visiting the night sky. We’ll view the moon, stars and summer constellations and learn about the challenges of a trip to the moon. This program is for children ages 6 and older. Space is limited – Please register in advance.
