On January 12, a series of earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 6.5 to 7.3 devastated Haiti. The American Red Cross is working with the Haitian Red Cross and other partners to assist those affected by this disaster.
In the spirit of this year’s Beverly Reads title Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson, the staff members of the Children’s Room are reaching out to help others. Anyone interested in joining their efforts may add money to the jar at the Children’s Circulation Desk. All funds collected in this jar will be donated to the American Red Cross to aid their earthquake relief efforts in the nation of Haiti.
