Are You Looking for a Job?
The North Shore Career Center will be offering a Career Development Workshop Series at the Beverly Public Library. These workshops are designed to help you focus your job hunting skills and strategies into a successful search. The workshops will take place on the first Wednesday of the month in January, February and March at 12 PM in the Sohier room at the Library. All workshops are free and anyone is welcome to attend; no registration is required, but you can sign-up at the Reference Desk of the main library.
- Wednesday, January 6 : Focus & Organize Your Job Search
For those who are doing most of their job hunting on the computer- Review more than 20 approaches to expand your job search approach and evaluate your strategy.
- Create a targeted, customized road-map to target employers, focus your efforts, maximize your time, and create a strategic approach to finding your next job.
- Wednesday, February 3: Networking and the Hidden Job Market
- Learn the value of the hidden job market and how to find information to help you in your job search.
- Review the fundamentals of networking and identify how to build, strengthen, and
expand your network.
- Wednesday, March 3: Using Age To Your Advantage
- Learn how to recognize and address negative stereotypes (your own as well as potential employers ) about mature workers, and identify many positive qualities and strengths.
Snack and Chat Book Discussion Group for 3rd-6th graders will meet on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 3:30 PM.
