We are pleased to announce the official opening of the Beverly Public Library’s 16th Annual Teen Poetry Contest. Poems will be accepted from now through 9 PM on Monday, March 5, 2012. To be eligible, students must either attend a school, or live in, Beverly, MA. Poems are judged blindly, and cash prizes are awarded in two age categories, grades 6-8 and grades 9-12. Finalists will read their poems to a live audience and winners will receive their awards at the Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 7 PM.
Please note that there is a limit of three poems per person. This year, contestants are strongly encouraged to submit poems through our online entry form. Paper entry forms are available in the library and through local schools, and will be accepted via mail or drop off at the Beverly Public Library, 32 Essex Street, Beverly, MA 01915. Poem and entry information may also be emailed to babin@noblenet.org.
